My Explorer needed diagnostics, my mechanic said take to dealer, he could not get readings.Korum advertised diagnostics for about $100.00. The tech called said I needed to buy $500.00 computer brain (can't recall exact name) before he could diagnose problem. Now, I'm no mechanic, but is the Ford diagnostic machine not able to tell when the vehicles computer is bad? the answer is "NO" I was not told this before I gave them the car. The service person (who writes up the work order was a teenage girl with very limited mechanical knowledge. When she called me to give me the news, she was unable to answer my most basic questions as to why I needed to spend $500.00 on parts they did not have in stock and were three days out. It turned out I had to pay for the "diagnostisics" even though it could not be done as advertised. 'Pathetic operation for a dealership with "factory trained" techs. "You could get an audience with the Pope easier than the Service manager'. Once bitten... |
