It is never a good thing when your convertible top is stuck open, only if it stuck closed. |

I brought my car in yesterday because my convertible top was stuck open and was told later that it would cost $600 for parts (minus service). When I arrived I asked him what motor was broken (he pointed it out) and asked him to close the cover so I leave. He said it was hard open the lid now and that he wouldn't do it for free. I asked how much it would be to put my car in drivable condition and he said "how much do you have on you." I declined. He called someone on the phone and told me that he was told to "Give him his car and tell him to **** off." I drove away with my top stuck half open. I had arrived with it fully open.
Another mechanic pulled the lid motor out my car and tested it. It worked. He opened the lid so I could fully close my top (in about 5 minutes) and told me everything looked fine, except that the bolt needed to operate the top was missing. I drove back to 200 Motorworks for the bolt and was told that it was long gone in the trash. |
